Isn’t the sky incredible? It can change in creative ways moment by moment.
The sky is elusive, and yet it is all around us. We can see it, yet we can’t grasp it.
This is how our longings and desires feel. We constantly chase them.
They will seem just within our grasp, but then they elude us.
Somehow we still have this drive inside us to continue chasing the sky.
At Chasing The Sky PMD we envision a world where true longings and desires are identified and realized,
so everyone is able to be free and refreshed in their body, mind and soul.
My purpose is to guide you into joy and freedom!
As an Enneagram Coach I utilize a typing tool that helps release people from dissatisfaction, self-condemnation and shame into joy and freedom, because that’s what it did for me.
Throughout my life I always felt the burden of trying to please everyone and do everything right. With my teachers through school, my supervisors at work, the preaching and teaching at church there has always been some anxiety about the consequences of getting it wrong.
I was dissatisfied and thought, There Has To Be Something More!
Growing increasingly overwhelmed by sin management, shame, blame and responsibility to save the world, I searched for the true freedom that Christ promises us.
Various personality systems and studying and practicing soul formation built self-awareness that helped me find a greater sense of mental, emotional and spiritual freedom.
The Enneagram even more so because I learned the why behind my feelings and reactions giving me the ability to take control.
AS A RESULT:
I am living into my personality, gifts and joys
I am no longer controlled by a cycle of negativity and criticism
I am free to live in grace and extend grace to others
I am able to choose healthier behaviors
I interact and communicate better
I have greater compassion
I have a stronger appreciation of other perspectives
Exploring personalities and self-awareness with my work colleagues and in ministry situations, I realized that I’m not satisfied with the confines of business and church leadership and want to fully focus on helping others find the freedom and transformation they are looking for.
I will listen to you, really listen to what you have to say, then utilize the tools the Enneagram provides to guide you toward greater freedom and control over your circumstances.
“What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.”
RW Emerson
Are you longing for something deeper? Does life suck?
If not constantly, then at least sporadically?
Church ministry provided numerous opportunities for me to experience the intense extremes of life either walking through it with others or from my own life.
I once had a weekend experiencing the joy and happiness of a wedding, baby dedications and baptisms at one end of the spectrum, along with an emotional memorial at the other end.
I have most recently experienced a time of rejection, questioning and searching in my own life.
It’s easy to stay in the suck with no outside input and the greatest gift I have received during times of struggle were people that knew how to practice ‘presence’. Friends who listened until things found their focus. With them I could normalize. I felt heard. I felt loved. I felt emotional strength return.
This one idea of appropriate listening transformed my ministry, my marriage, my approach to life and to others. Feeling heard and supported inspires the energy to move forward, then healing can begin and a hope for the future peaks through the dark clouds again.
But what then? I have learned that to find joy and freedom you must be intentional.
There are three areas we can focus on to refresh the mind and soul as you work toward freedom:
First, transform your mental and emotional state through listening and encouragement.
Second, transform your circumstances through what I’d call Life Coaching. After listening we plan appropriate stretching goals to improve life.
Third, transform your soul as you enter into Spiritual Development/Formation. Here we move into self-awareness and God-awareness to wrestle with who we are in the light of God’s greater intention.
There is an old proverb that says, “If you are unhappy, change your attitude or change your circumstance.” I just know that neither is easily done alone.
I no longer desire to deal with church budgets, programing, complaints about worship music and flower arrangements. Instead I have chosen to do that to which I was called: assist people in moving forward in faith and life with intention toward health and freedom.
“I’m here for the ragamuffins. For the people that know that they are broken and for those that want to embrace their journey.”
“If you’re going to go, you might as well have some fun along the way.”
